Build cost is components times weeks times 40 hours times your rate, discounted by the AI speed-up. Maintenance is charged on the full code surface, because AI writes the code faster but does not make it smaller. Salesforce ships three platform releases a year, Spring, Summer, and Winter, and any of them can touch LWC, Apex, or Flow runtime; API versions are supported for about three years, then retired in waves. That cadence is what maintenance pays for, and it does not care whether a human or an AI wrote the code.
