Four more things the standard table cannot do at all

Every clip below was recorded in a real Salesforce org, in a real screen flow, on 164 real opportunities. Nothing here is a mockup.

Rows fold into groups that carry their own record count, their own amount subtotal and their own pagination. The standard Data Table has no grouping.

A filter panel beside the table, with counts taken from the records themselves. You build nothing in the flow for it. The standard Data Table gives you a search bar and stops there.

Per-row action menus: update a record, open a sub-flow, navigate. The standard Data Table cannot trigger anything from a row.

A real export dialog, with format and encoding. The standard Data Table has no export at all.

Same data, same columns

The same 164 opportunities, in both components

Same org, same seven fields, same sort. Nothing was degraded on one side or dressed up on the other. Each component draws the same records with what it has.

Plain text in every column. No grouping, no totals, no actions. The table stops at 400 pixels tall, which is its documented maximum.

What the standard Data Table still cannot do

Based on Salesforce's Data Table Screen Input Component documentation, checked in September 2026. The lines below summarise what it states.

No dates, no picklists, no lookups

Inline editing covers Boolean, Number, Currency, Phone, Email, Percent, Text and Text Area. A close date or a stage still sends the user to another screen.

400 pixels tall, maximum

Salesforce writes it plainly: the maximum height of a Data Table is 400 pixels. Past that, your users scroll inside a box.

1,500 rows shown, 200 selectable

Two hard caps, both documented. Avonni paginates instead.

Not compatible with mobile devices

Salesforce says so in its own considerations. Avonni Flow Screen Components run on desktop, tablet and mobile, though on a phone our docs point you to the Avonni List rather than the Data Table.

No visual column types

Every column renders as text. A deal at 90 percent looks exactly like one at 10 percent.

No grouping, no row actions, no export
