Screen Flows

Site survey inside a flow

A technician traces the roof on a live map, in step 2 of a screen flow, and the shape is saved as a file on the work order.

The scenario

SolarOps runs site surveys as a four step screen flow. Step 2 is the map. The technician zooms to the address, draws the roof perimeter with the polygon tool and presses Save survey. The drawing lands on the work order as a file. Previous and Next are the standard flow footer.

The configuration
  • type: leaflet: real OpenStreetMap tiles, no Google Maps key.
  • drawable: true, drawToolsPosition: topright: polygon, edit and delete tools on the map itself.
  • saveAsContentDocument: true, contentDocumentLinkedEntityId set to the work order, saveAsButtonLabel: Save survey: the shape becomes a file on the record.
  • centerLatitude and centerLongitude from the work order, zoomLevel at house number level: the map opens on the right roof.
Step by step

The settings above are the ones that matter. The tutorial has the whole build: the objects and sample data behind the screen, every step in order, and what to check once it runs.
